Some Updates I said I would open commissions again once done with the last batch but it doesn't seem like that will happen for another few weeks. A lot has fallen into my lap on the professional gigs front and I don't like taking as long as I did to turn over commissions as I did this past time. I sweat the personal jobs more than the bigger ones it seems. I have one to finish up, but thankfully this person is a complete sweetheart and I hope to make it up to him for the delay.
Imagine Publishing, the folks that bring you Photoshop and Painter magazines have something new rolling out to keep up with the edgier fantasy/sci-fi publications and I will be doing a 2 parter for the first two issues. You will be able to find concept work, borked sketches, and various thought processes that go into a full blown illustration. I'll also talk about inspirations.. This is completely original work with complete freedom.
As exposure increases of my work about color techniques and choices, this avenue has started to open up rapidly in the field of comics. It has taken me completely by surprise and I will have some tasty info in the coming months concerning this.
Lastly, thanks for the recent support of favs and insightful comments (stares at *WCSallySally). I know I haven't dished out some heavy work like I used to, but I hope in the next few weeks to rectify it.

I was really wondering who had such a penetrating and unwavering vision! If I had not been particularly relaxed .. it might have been spooky!! That two into one trick is quite amazing.
Now it seems I have succumb to the very thing you were unhappy about, which was forgetting things (but honestly .. the things that happen to the grey matter .. frightful!).
I have always felt I almost knew that girl who is lounging in the hay pile! (Call it silly if you wish.) ... particularly fond of belt buckles the one I knew.
Comics .. I had a run in with the Hollywood Knights many years ago, and they want more of your depth than any sane person would willingly offer up! ... So put on your best armour as you court the people who do the "serial books".
There is an album cover of a fair damsel, sitting in a tower of books, surrounded by a decaying castle of books .. (not Marion's style) ... and while no one will ever dispute the value of the news, the gears of the industry are pitiless, and turn ash over ash over ash. ("White Bird must fly.")
Armour up fair maiden if you venture there.

Can I inspire a study? .. "a tree" .. ?or the large bamboo?, but really that is giant reedy grass.
So I would set your mind to doing a tree, a great and expansive deciduous tree, perhaps where Hephaestus gathers his laurels; and the Dagda cauldron is behind the great stone cliffs nearby .. oh Halloween is over ... just the tree .. if you are of a mind to do it .. of course.
In a tree, you can work the light, work the shadow, work the texture, and the ambiance .. but we'll leave Joyce Kilmer to his own devices.
If you don't finish it for a few years .. I'll understand.
