Corvus by Gatling Corvus by Gatling
I tried to be the conduit for the magic within this character the commissioner described. I loved working on him as much if not more than my own creation. It pleases me greatly when this happens and solidifies the truth that I don't want to be doing anything else for the remainder of my time.

Really dope. Kinda like the opposite of that elusive white wolf from Pocahontas [was it Pocahontas or Balto?]. I peeped that smiley too.

This reminds me of a scene from the cartoon Balto...only completely inverted and dark but just as mysterious. Very nicely done (is that a happy face in the ice?? XD)

the composition is great, you used mountains as a 'frame' around the wolf and the light to make a big contrast with the animal's black fur. The smoke rising from the wolf, the sparks and the mesmerizing red eyes add a lot of mistery and magic to the whole pic.
I was wondering, is it an aurora borealis in the sky? It seems that it can be seen... through the wolf as it was partially-transparent

Thank you very much. Its kind of an aurora. I felt like I didn't want the amazing brilliance of a full one though. There are already so many colors happening here that there might've been an overload of sparkly glitteriness.

As far as the transparency, it was intentional as the wolf is a sort of constellation in himself. So I tried to make him and the sky one in the same.

Great character :aww: sweet colors , the light on firs hill seems just as bright as the light on the second, you might have gotten a bit more depth if that wasn't so.. just my 2 cents, still great image!

The colors on this piece are simply amazing and I love the horizon. The fact that such thing as snow doesn't look like plain white+blue combo is also very eye-pleasing. I'm happy I saw something that's done with PainterX since I want to buy it and just wasn't sure what kind of brushwork could be achieved with it @_@

Oils. No blenders. I stay away from the oil glazes from time to time as no matter how much I change the saturation settings, it never works how I want it.

No blenders, interesting. Do you like any particular oil brushes more than others? Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm just curious what the pros prefer.

Thanks for replying :):horns:
