I have a group :iconthe-fanart-society: that has a folder called Other Related Arts; Conceptual Arts for epic works such as this. Even though my group is for fan art, I love to host other awesome works. I would be honored to have this, thanks.

Hey, I love this work, I just wanted to know: what brushes do you use in Painter for this style? Just airbrush?
Gatling Featured By Owner Mar 18, 2009
=) The artists oils and digital oil brushes flat and detail. Hope this helps.
encore Featured By Owner Mar 19, 2009
Thanks for the reply! I currently use the oil pastels and airbrush, I have to try using those in future works.

Aww, the poor guy needs a hug. :(
pixelkirby Featured By Owner Oct 8, 2008 an incredibly handsome man. His hair...his face...that little spatter of blood...everything about him is downright gorgeous. The windows in background give it such a reverent, solemn ambience too. And I adore the little details in the goldwork on his chair. Just beautiful!

I can't think of anything about this work that could be better. I love it all. Wonderful job!

You know I have been afraid to really look at this for weeks! But now I read the words, and that helped a lot.

Nice words.
Sad moment ...

Time will heal the wounds, and perhaps fate will help heal the abyss of loss. Many are the threads in the meilu.

I love the mix of colors, the blues and the reds, it's very... can't find the word for it, I'll say beautiful but sometimes that word starts to sound boring! LOL

Amazing details. I love the little bird fluttering in the bottom left.
Persnickitii Featured By Owner Jul 15, 2008
This is just beautiful. Normally front portraits are hard to stand out from the crowd as they are very simple and symmetric, yet there is so much atmosphere and depth in this piece, from the subtle lighting to the blood on his hands, that I am blown away regardless. The dead bird on the book is also a fascinating touch; it truly draws me in and makes me wonder what could be going on beneath the surface. If this was a cover for a book, I would pick it up without hesitation.

Your meticulous attention to detail and gorgeous, sleek painting skills dazzle and delight me; you are so inspiring it hurts.

It's not easy to sacrifice something delicate and fragile. I can't imagine what lead to this but can imagine the pain won't easily fade as hands tainted with blood will stain like red wine. You can just feel his emotions thinking "What have i done?" in this, well portrayed Kel.
